False positive on Windows 10 notifications

Postby elusive » Fri, 17 Mar 2017, 11:56

Hi,

I have a user reporting a false positive in Panda Endpoint Protection.

I'm still waiting for confirmation on which specific version they're using, but it's probably v0.2a3, download available here: https://github.com/Elusive138/GrowlToToast/releases/tag/v0.2a3

They say the included GrowlToToast.Toaster.exe is being detected as a "W32/Exploit.gen". The user can be contacted via GitHub: https://github.com/Elusive138/GrowlToToast/issues/7

Full source code of the program is available here: https://github.com/Elusive138/GrowlToToast/tree/master/Toaster

Very simple program. Takes args and passes them through some Microsoft libs that do nothing more than display a toast notification.

I've also attached just the Toaster portion in a zip with the password "panda".
