[CLOSED] Funmoods hijacking all browsers

Postby groovypower » Tue, 24 Jul 2012, 17:33

This is ad software that acts like malware and is basically hijacking all of my browsers, switching the search engine and being an overall pain. Is Panda Security working on removing this nuisance, or will I need to do this manually? I believe some other anti-virus products are able to get rid of it, I'd like to know if you guys are working on it as well?

Hi,

Do you have any Panda antivirus installed on your Pc?
Have you tried doing a full scan of your computer with the latest signature file ?

Yes, I have AV2012 and it did not find it using the latest updates and a full scan.

I got rid of it using the free version of malwarebytes.org. I am still wondering if it is malware or just a nuisance.

With this kind of software there is not much we can do as you agree its installation with its license agreement
I don't know this specific software, but it probably requested confirmation to install some additional software (the adware itself) such as a toolbar or something similar
