[CLOSED] Trojan.AndroidOS.Levida

Post by MarisaAnn »

Also identified as: com.adv.fm.pro-3.apk. Several antivirus tools, including Panda mobile installed on my Samsung Galaxy S iii, have identified this trojan that has taken over my phone. It has placed itself in my device manager and will not allow alterations to the dm. It cannot be uninstalled, along with the other programs it installed, Game of War, Panda Pop, and File Manager. I have tried several apps to remove it but they all use my device's uninstaller and the trojan will not allow this. Help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

First you have to uncheck it from the device administrator settings and then you should be able to uninstall it

If you are not able to uninstall it then may a blotware included by the device vendor and you may need to root the device to uninstall it

I tried that and it won't let me uncheck it. Wouldn't I have to connect my device to my computer to root it? That could be risky to my computer to do that, no? It's not bloat ware I am sure. It is a trojan that has taken over my device.

This one seems to be quite tricky, Go to settings>Device Administration. Now unselect "Android Settings"
Then you should be able to uninstall it from the "File Manager" application manager

In case you are still not able to uninstall it, try botting your device in safe mode

Once in safe mode you will be able to go into your "security" settings and uncheck the "File manager" application from the "device administraror apps" list
Reboot device normally so you can then go to your application manager and uninstall that "File manager"

It may not be necessary to root it
Follow the steps indicated to disable the app's device administrator in the device's safe mode and then try uninstalling it
