[SOLVED] AV Pro 2012 Status Danger

Postby peterwt » Thu, 12 Apr 2012, 11:11

I have been using Panda AV for some years. Last December I upgraded to AV Pro 2012 and everything worked fine until a few days ago. Now the Panda Status screen shows "DANGER it is advisable to restart the computer" and on clicking the "SOLVE" button gives the option to restart. If I restart I get the same and it does not correct the problem.

Virus protection ndoes however appear to be working as it picks up the eicat test virus and updates also operate. How do I solve this problem?

Hi

Go to start -- run -- type services.msc and press OK

Panda services must be "Running" and "Automatic start". If any of them is not started, right it and select to start it. If that process shows any error, send us a screenshot of it

One of the most common causes of this error message would be if TPSrv is crashing, please try installing the following hotfix which should resolve the problem.

Follow the steps below to apply hotfix hft111104s19_r1.exe (648 KB) developed by Panda Security:

Download hotfix hft111104s19_r1.exe.
Save the file to your hard disk; to the Windows Desktop, for example.
Double-click the hft111104s19_r1.exe file.
Finally, reboot your computer for the hotfix to be fully applied and check that the incident is resolved.

Kind Regards,

FireFox

Thanks Firefox applying hotfix hotfix hft111104s19_r1.exe solved the problem although it created another.

When I did a restart after running the hotfix exe my PC started desperatly slow. I shut it down again and it took half an hour but even then it did not completly shut down - I had to manually power off. When I powered up again it was OK.
