[SOLVED]PCOP on HP Pavilion G7 laptop
I have installed PCOP on customers HP Pavilion G7 laptop and following problem came. Uopon restart, laptop is unable to restart computer and reverts to restart and asking to restore to previous configuration to solve the problem.
If I remove PCOP, computer starts fine.
I have had similar problems with Antivirus Pro on HP G7 laptop previously and then the culprit was some HP components.
Do anyone have any ideas how to come around this problem?

Hello ,
First of all , can you clear up your first line as im abit confused.
With PCOP installed, you are unable to restart the laptop? This correct?
Can you please attach the system & application event logs here. If you have a problem, please let me know.
Thanks

Hi!
Yes, the laptop doesn't start, but hangs on Starting Windows screen with the "windows" pulsating. After ten minutes or so laptop restarts and upon restart gives you option to use system recovery to return to previous restore point.
It's my customers laptop, so I'll have to fetch it to my office and then I can get those logs you want.
I had similar problems with same laptop last autumn when installed Internet Security 2012 on it. This was fixed with some hotifxes to IS 2012.
It seems that it might be problem with HP Connection assistant or some other HP tool.

Re: PCOP on HP Pavilion G7 laptop
If you could try and check those logs to see what application is failing (if any).
Also, please try and create a basic config on your web console. Start off with F/W, mail & messaging, Internet protection all disabled - leave Antivirus Enabled. Issue solved ? Not solved?
If not , try the following hotfixes and then reboot the laptop.
http://www.pandasecurity.com/resources/ ... on_x64.msi - 64 bit
http://www.pandasecurity.com/resources/ ... on_x86.msi - 32 bit
If nothing works then we have to take it a step further where I will assist privately as we can then open up a case.
Regards,

It seem to be problem with pcop firewall and the realtek wlan card. When firewall is enabled computer freezes on starting Windows with the Windows logo pulsating. Also the wlan indicator light on keyboard stays orange i.e. the wlan card is not enabled.
With firewall disabled on PCOP, computer works fine.
I tired the hotfix, but it informed upon running it, that it is older version than the one installed.

Hello there,
You will see under your LAN settings a Panda NDIS IM filter , try and disable this and reboot.
Let me know if the problem is solved.

Nope
,
This is the best pic I can get.
http://support.hubris.net/configuration ... rk_xp.html
Number 3. Second in that list should be the Panda NDIS IM filter
