[CLOSED] GP14 blocks "Internet Connection Sharing"

Postby HennieRoets » Mon, 02 Sep 2013, 17:12

Hi there,

thank you for reading. How can I configure Panda's Firewall to allow Windows's "Internet Connection Sharing".

My PC's 3G connection is shared, DHCP goes to the client pc, but the client pc or workstation can not see the internet until Panda's Firewall is de-activated.

I have a few client that shares 3G connections and all of them has to use Windows firewall

Hi,

confirm that the firewall is configured as Trusted Network, if the problem persist, try to installing the following hotfix.

Keep us informed.

Hi!

Does ICS work with the firewall turned off?

Try opening port 445 through the Panda FW.

Perhaps do screenshots of your Firewall configuration.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you.

Radko

Hi all,

Yes ICS works with or without Windows Firewall enabled. Panda FW HAS to be off.

Opening 445 in and out tcp/udp local 445 - remote all....... did not help

I was hoping someone already figured this out, because this has been an issue since day one of Panda. With XP it was difficult to understand all the ports, services and protocols that was involved in ICS. I see at least that Win 7 advanced firewall has a lot more detail. I'm gonna play and see if I can get it figured, don't have the time really. If someone else does and enjoy what they do please be my guest.

I've spoken to Panda about this and every year it is ignored. Still a big Panda fan for all time.

It would be nice if this "Service" option is available in Firewall settings, or just supported by default.

Internet Security Product that forces 3G clients to use the Windows firewall...(Shudderr)

I will submit my results and stuff I've tried.

Thanks for anyone that is involved

Hi!

See these threads - they explore a different problem but might give you a hint as to what ports and services you need to open so the ICS will work:
