Hi, sorry to be over-careful - a previous post in Jan said this file was a false positive, but can you please confirm ?
Have happily been running Hitman Pro for years, Panda Free (version 16.0.02 now) almost as long. Now HPro has suddenly come up with this:
C:\ProgramData\Panda Security\Panda Devices Agent\Downloads\6789d305189b01f4a3da3b9a4fe6db2b\6789d305189b01f4a3da3b9a4fe6db2b.exe
Size . . . . . . . : 449,584 bytes
Age . . . . . . . : 166.3 days (2015-12-11 22:22:32)
Entropy . . . . . : 7.6
SHA-256 . . . . . : 5ACD6742E955D537FE880CB4246D9287D98B8D06EDD06871ECA1CB65B1E0370B
RSA Key Size . . . : 2048
Authenticode . . . : Valid
> Bitdefender . . . : Trojan.Generic.16009801
Fuzzy . . . . . . : 99.0
And remarks (I abbreviate a bit):
One or more vendors have indicated that the file is malicious..
Entropy (or randomness) indicates that the program is encrypted, compressed or obfuscated.
Author's name is missing in version info.
Version control is missing . This file is probably created by an individual. This is not typical for most programs.
Program is code signed with a valid Authenticode certificate.
The file appears to be part of an installation package or setup program. This is typical for most programs.
So a) BitDefender still or newly has this down as a real Trojan and b) HitmanPro has suddenly spotted this after 166.3 days,
Both of these are bizarre. Hitman Pro checks every time I restart my pc, so why has it been keeping quiet up to now ?
Or has Bitdefender changed its rating ?
Or has a real Trojan been smuggled into Panda Free ? (???!)
Grateful for your help, adj
