Windows 7 not automatically installing

Postby ServerOps » Wed Oct 28, 2009 5:17 pm

Version 4.4.10 installed, update for Win7 applied. It will install if you select the machine in the console and choose install. If you try to install like Win XP (using the pav agent and ini), the base three services show up (Communications Agent, Scheduler and Report Service) but the rest of the client doesn't install. Anyone else seeing this or have any ideas? These are Win 7 x64 machines if that makes a difference.

Panda says 4.04 does not support Win 7. They have a hotfix out (4.05) that you can install which will allow for installation on Win 7 boxes, both 32 and 64 bit. You can find this hotfix in the Panda downloads section.

Update is applied. The client will install if I go into the console and choose install, it does not seem to install automatically just using the pavagent as XP does.

Hi,

Do you have the automatic installation option configured to install onto Windows Workstations? This is the only way Panda will automatically install the protection on once the communications agent is installed?

Thanks.

Yes we do, as I said, our XP clients install just fine, this seems to only be an issue with our Windows 7 machines.

Hi,

Please could you ensure UAC is turned off on the Windows 7 machines as this can cause problems for the install to work.

Thanks, GSRKing.
