internet requirement

The program description says "To maximize detection capability, the infected computer must be connected to the Internet for Cloud cleaner to work at maximum capability" but the program runs without complaint or warning with or without interrnet access.
Is there a way to have the program suspend (preferably with warning) when there is no responce to the program's interrnet communication then resume when the connection is working?
