[04427675] PFAV and a balloon tip
[04427675] PFAV and a balloon tip
Hello.
I have a problem with Panda Free Antivirus.
When Panda is inactivated, the balloon tip "You may remove your equipment safely" appears after clicking "Remove your device safely" in the notification area, to eject an USB device.
But if PFAV is activated, the ballon tip does not appear.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thank you for answering me.

Try turning off USB drive vaccination and removing the vaccination for the USB drive in question. If you aren't sharing your USB drives with others, then there really is no need to vaccinate USB drives -- particularly external USB hard drives.

Hello.
I have turned off the USB drive vaccination (in PFAV settings).
But,how do you remove the vaccination from an USB drive (or a SDCard)?
(there is no change, when PFAV is ON.)

What Panda product version are you using? You can check it in the version.ini file located in the antivirus installation folder
What Operating System are you using? 32 or 64 bits?

Hello.
I gave it a try to the latest 17.0.1 version.
After desinstalling the ancient version and installing the new one,the PC shut down;then it runs again.
Just after,I can see the balloon tip "You may remove your equipment safely" appears after clicking "Remove your device safely" when using an Usb device.I can see also the message "you cannot remove your drive....It's busy;another program is using it...."
But when I tried again,no more balloon!!!
The problem is unsolved.
You didn't tell me how to remove vaccination from USB drives.
Try to help me.
Thanks

There are 2 ways of removing the vaccine:eric1000 wrote:You didn't tell me how to remove vaccination from USB drives.
1. Formatting the USB drive
2. Mounting the USB drive on a Linux OS (You can load an Ubuntu Live CD for example) and deleting the autorun.inf file contained in it

Re: PFAV and a balloon tip
Hello!
O.K. for removing vaccination from USB device.
But ,only one USB key have this Autorun.inf (hidden file).
My other Usb devices (keys, external drivers,SDCards...) have not such a file (hidden or not). However, there is the same problem whith them.
So I think the problem does not come from vaccination.
I went to the register:the key "EnableBallonTips" in HKCU Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Eplorer/Advanced was not here!!! I put it again, with value "1".But,no change.
I would not like to choose another AV.
Best regards
