[CLOSED] TPSrvWoW.exe High CPU

Post by ChicoHash »

Just this morning, I boot up the pc and the cpu is hosed at 100%. I thought it may have been applications updating, but after 4 hours, still at 100% cpu. I looked at the resource usage and it was the TPSrvWow.exe causing the problem. Once that service is termated, cpu returns to normal. When I start that service once again, cpu peeks again.

I'm using Panda AV Pro 2012 on a Win7 x64 pc.

Any idea if that service is critical? Righ now I have it disabled in order to get some work done.

Thanks.

TPSrvWow High CPU Usage

Post by farshadv »

Hi,

I am using Panda AV Pro 2012 - 11.01.00 on a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with 32 GB of RAM and almost always 35% of my CPU is taken by TPSrvWow.exe*32

Is there a fix for this or a 64 bit edition of this which would not use so much of my CPU?

Thanks,

@VirusBuster - Unfortunately, that hotfix did not resolve the issue. After installing and rebooting...took 45 minutes just to get the Resource Monitor to open. That service was using 204 threads at the time and was climbing. Again, once terminated, CPU returned to normal so I can get some work done.

Any other suggestions? I do love the Panda products and have been using it, and have been recommending it, for several years now and would hate to give it up.

Hi,

I downloaded and exceuted the application. It looked like it was not doing anything as all it had was "Starting" - After 32 minutes and still nothing I had to stop it. Am I to stop a specific service or process before running this?

Thanks,

@VirusBuster - THANK YOU! That last hotfix did the trick. I have AdobeCS5, Outlook, and Jira w/Tomcat running right now and CPU is only at 12% with the same previously problematic service running. All Panda services are performing well now.

Thank you once again - my issue is solved.

I have tried the fix in Safe Mode and it did the same thing - It just sits there with the text "Starting..." and nothing happens. Have tried in Safe Mod run as administrator as well and no difference. Is there a new install of the full product which has this fix in it?

Thanks,
