Hacker pretends to be from Panda

About a year ago I got a phone call from someone who said that they were from Panda security and offered to extend my coverage for five years for about 500 dollars. They were persuasive and so I bit and paid. Now a year later they are back wanting to do a “security check” on my computer. I am reasonably convinced that this is a scam. Has anyone else run across this ?

Had familiar situation...
when I was in Canada a few months ago, someone called me and said they're from Panda security team too... very strange, I even don't know where they got my new phone number...
