[SOLVED] Uninstallation of Panda AV Pro 2011

Post by sassynail »

I ordered for download Panda AV Pro 2013 for 3PCs. I successfully uninstalled and downloaded in 1 computer with no problem. The 2nd one keeps coming up with a message when I uninstall saying SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (391) pAPP: Panda Antivirus Pro 2011 P:Vendor Panda Security PGUID:E55FB276-73C9-4776-AB53-BC028C0509ED $11.0.0.28844 @WINDOW SERVICE PACK 2. Each time it's followed by empty temporary folder etc. Error code -5001. Now on the other one it used service pack 3 so with the other one I kept changing the compatibilities and nothing worked. I think it could be the installation wizard that keeps opening up automatically called macrovision corp. with program file setup.exe. Is there a link you could send me that would uninstall the old antivirus? Or any adjustments you recommend I do?

I've downloaded generic installer and I select to allow this program to go through and then nothing more happens. It didn't prompt me to uninstall.

There is a registry key that may be interfering
Go to start -- run, type regedit and press OK
Delete the following keys if they exist:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Panda SMCL
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Panda SMCL

Reboot the PC and run the Generic Uninstaller again

Under software I see Panda Security and Panda Software but not with the letters SMCL attached to it. I don't know if it's those 2 that need deleted.

Are you using 32 or 64 bits operating system?
Can you run the PSInfo tool and provide us the resulting psz file (compress it into a zip file so that you are allowed to attach it)?

It's telling me the file is too big to attach. The file is 6000KB. Is there a way it could be emailed? Or maybe it wasn't compressed right, I've never used Zip files before. By the way my operating system is 64 bit

Did you try deleting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Panda SMCL
If you tried and the generic uninstaller is not launched, please contact your local support team referring this thread and provide them the PSInfo so that a case can be opened to study the issue

It says Panda Security and Panda Software and when I open them it says PavShld and Psksrv. Do I delete the 2 Panda files?
