[CLOSED] Excluding Shared folder from file protection

Post by mjs »

Hello!

We have an application that is shared across company by Windows UNC share. It seems to have some file problems when Panda Cloud Office Protection scans the executables on this share and thus we would like to exclude the folder from scan. We defined the share to Folders to exclude as \\SERVER\SHARE, is this correct format to avoid scans in shared folders? If it does not work, can you tell us the right format to avoid scans on these?

If it is not possible to exclude shared folder, is it possible to exclude scan for specific files in shared folder?

Setting the share as network drive to our workstations is not a possible solution.

Hello,

Thank you for your post.

Before applying any exclusion for the permanent protection in Panda for Desktops or Panda Cloud Office Protection, make sure the following statements are true:

Folder exclusions:
Exclusions CONTAIN full path.
Exclusions DO NOT CONTAIN mapped drives.
Exclusions to network locations CONTAIN full UNC path.
User environment and variables are NOT supported.
Wildcards and question marks are NOT supported.

Examples of CORRECT folder exclusions:
C:\windows\system32
\\192.168.21.23\test
%ProgramFiles%\Test
Examples of INCORRECT folder exclusions:
Z:\ (where z is a mapped drive)
C:\temp*\
C:\?indows

File exclusions:
Exclusions CONTAIN full path
Exclusions DO NOT CONTAIN mapped drives
Exclusions to network locations CONTAIN full UNC path
Wildcards and question marks are NOT supported.
Examples of CORRECT exclusions:
C:\windows\system32\filename.dll
Examples of INCORRECT exclusions:
C:\Wind*\System32\test.exe
C:\windows\????.dll

Let us know in case you have any further inquiries.

Thank you.

BR,
Radko
