[CLOSED] weird issue with panda endpoint protection

Post by honx »

first, i have the client with german language, so i don't know exaktly, how things are called in english version.
i have some weird issues with endpoint protection from panda cloud office protection.
if my computer had been running for some time (two or three days without reboot),
scanning a single file with "scan with panda endpoint protection" from file context menu doesn't work anymore.
dialog says, that the scan is completed but files scanned: 0. the program has stopped working. time for reboot.
after reboot this scan works again for some time. but after some time the same problem occurs again.
i have done a complete system scan recently (which took more than 20 hours), but it found no malware.
another wierd experience: after this complete scan steam is starting and updating twice on system startup.
my system is windows 7 64 bit.

Hi!

Wtf, new license?!?!?!

Your vendor should:
1. Provide you with your registration information (client ID).
2. Escalate the upgrade request to the Panda HQ.
3. Inform you when the upgrade is done - the Panda protections and agents will be upgraded automatically.

In any case - you should be able to enable all the protection modules for a particular Profile - go to the Panda web console -> Computer settings -> choose a Profile -> enable all features you need.

Device control enables you to disable, say, removable media (USBs CDs etc), web cameras and other peripherials etc. It is quite self-explanatory. E.g. if you work in a bank, you wouldn't want your users to be able to extract information from their PCs, so you will disable USB stick support...

Let us know in case you have any further inquiries.

Cheers!

i have installed the new version about a week ago but this issue remains. what is wrong with my installation?
the scan seems compleded but files scanned: 0. my pc has been running for about a week since last reboot.
this bug is not very useful, i don't want to reboot the system just to scan a file for malware. :D

Hi!

Let me ask you this:

Do you have just 1 PC protected with PCOP?

If that is the case, kindly contact your vendor, as they are the group responsible for supporting your Panda installation. We will cooperate with them, should they request it.

Cheers!

i have contacted my vendor by email. now i'll have to wait.

same problem occurs also with complete system scan.
tells me that it's finished after 1 second and files scanned: 0.

another question: how can i restart panda endpoint protection without having to reboot the system?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

Please elaborate on "how to restart Panda".
You can restart the Panda services... Start -> Run -> type "services.msc" -> restart the Panda related services.
If you wish to test whether your antivirus solution is indeed working you can try to download the EICAR test malware from http://www.eicar.org

Cheers!
