I was also having this same issue and disabling mail protection did the trick. Is there any update if this is going to get resolved so that we can turn mail protection back on?

I have also facing this problem. I disabled email protection from Antivirus settings & it works. i use Outlook 2007 for gmail pop service. If i enable email protection then it create problem again at incoming email. now what should i do?

Re problem with send and receive in Outlook. I have 2010. Open Panda and and then open Firewall. Under Rules click on settings to specify programs that can be accessed via internet. Select Outlook from the drop down list and then click on Allow send and receive. You will then no longer get the error message of send and receive. Same instructions for other programs that Panda may be blocking.
