[SOLVED] Uninstallation Problems - Cloud Antivirus Pro 3.0

I have read the relevant item within FAQ but the uninstaller tool has not worked for me. Could you assist me with manual uninstall instructions please?

A basic history:

- i had 2.9 beta which uninstalled fine when 3.0 was launched.

- i installed 3.0 Pro promotional version from Panda Facebook page link.

- due to problems with my computer - which I now realise were totally unconnected with 3.0 - I uninstalled 3.0 as a precautionary measure. It did not uninstall cleanly but I think I got most of it out by using an uninstaller called Advanced Uninstaller Pro.

- tried to reinstall 3.0 again but no success - downloads extremely slowly and then says cannot install due to a problem.

I really liked the product and am frustrated that I cannot now re-install!

What do you mean that it didn't work?
Did it return any error? Did it request a reboot when finished running?

How can it be? Did you uninstall from the control panel first or just ran Advanced Uninstaller Pro?

Could you try using the Offline Installer?

Thanks for reply.

I used Advanced uninstaller Pro and not the Control Panel.

With the Panda uninstaller tool, I can download the file, but cannot then open it to run. I get a Windows error message saying that "Windows cannot open this file To open this file, Windows neds to know what program you want to use to open it." Basically, i didnt know what to do next?

Just tried the offline installer and got a Panda Cloud error message saying "An error has occured during thr process and it was not possible to complete the installation of Panda Cloud Antivirus".

Does it have the exe extension, right? If so, I guess that your exe file association is messed up
Download the attached recover exe.zip and extract it
Then run the extracted recover exe.reg and agree to import it to the registry
Reboot the PC and try running the generic unistaller again

Just done all that but still getting the same message that Windows cannot open this file etc

Are you sure that is has been downloaded with the correct extension as generic_uninstaller.exe?
Make sure that you are showing the file extensions

Try downloading it again from the following link:
Download Panda Cloud Antivirus Uninstaller.

If the problem persists, post a screenshot of the error message

Jorge, the download is not showing the exe extension.

First download shows file name as generic_uninstaller.1400608670.

Second download attempt shows generic_uninstaller.1400615442.

Where am I going wrong here and not getting the file extension?

Please excuse my basic knowledge and basic computer skills. My version of Windows is Vista if it helps with any guidance to me.

OK, what happens is that the browser did not restore the proper extension when finishing the download for whatever reason
I saw another thread with the same issue not so long ago

The download is correct but it didn't assign the extension
Right click any of those files, select rename and replace the numbers with "exe" so that the file name is generic_uninstaller.exe
Then you should be able to run it

Thank you. I have now run the generic uninstaller and been able to download Panda Cloud Antivirus free. But I could not download again the promotional copy of Pro 3.0 from the Panda Facebook page. The download started but effectively froze and made no progress. So I have lost the firewall option which I really liked along with the free promotional period.

But at least I have made progress with getting Cloud antivirus free which I could not install before your help.

If the normal Facebook promotional version fails to download, you can try downloading its offline installer from this link

Then uninstall the Free version through add/remove programs in the control panel and install with the installer from the link above
