[CLOSED] PSANHost.exe chewing up CPU and battery life

I am running Panda Free Antivirus v17.0.1. It has been running flawlessly since I upgraded from v16.1.3 on August 23. However, just in the past couple of days, my laptop has started running at high CPU usage, chewing up the battery life quickly, with a lot of fan noise. The process PSANHost.exe is running flat out at 25% of total CPU capacity (probably consuming one of my CPU cores completely). I lack permission to stop the process, but I lowered its priority, and this does not fix the problem.

Please advise me on how I can get Panda Antivirus to stop overusing resources and restore its normal operation. Your assistance is appreciated.

Have you enabled the scan of compressed files on the antivirus settings?

The "Scan compressed files" option on the antivirus settings page is OFF.

I haven't changed any settings in the past week, when the problem suddenly arose.

Three of my computers are running Panda 17.0.1 on Windows 10. PSANHost behaves properly on two, but it seems to be out of control on the third.

Have you rebooted since you installed?
