Suggestions for Dome updating process

I use free Panda Dome. I have two suggestions regarding the updates.

The first is to give a warning about an impending update. The dialog could have a Postpone feature as well. The update process is quite heavy, and on lesser machines ties up everything for quite some time. This can be a problem if the user is doing something critical.

The second is to have a Check for Updates feature on the About dialog. This way updates could be done preemptively at a convenient time.

Instead of using half-baked solutions that will be anyway replaced by databases one day, I still prefer using a good full-featured database. It's also easier to manage the connection between different systems. I find these customer database management solutions very powerful and flexible in terms of accomplishing such tasks.
